Living out of a jar

by January 7, 2011
Daily I struggle over financial security. Daily God’s words to me, to trust Him, echo in my mind, but the battle is fierce. My flesh vehemently resists and questions God’s word and testifies that I must take care of myself. My flesh is well trained to think this way. It Read more » Read more »

2011—Looking Ahead

by January 5, 2011
Jana Hoober
Today is Jan 1, 2011.  Lately I have been reading the Bible cover to cover as one continuous story to see what stands out to me. (I have successfully made it through Leviticus and Numbers…..yeah for me!) Today I’m in Deuteronomy 4 and verses 32-33 caught my attention. “Ask now Read more » Read more »

How has 2010 defined me?

by January 2, 2011
ellie
From my view, looking back over 2010 is something like watching a tornado wreak havoc on an orderly garden and leave the most beautiful disaster imaginable. Memory and Milestones

by November 12, 2010
Jana Hoober
As Ben and I drove to school this morning we were practicing his scripture memory.  The passage that he is working on is Acts 17:22-27.  Years ago, God made Himself known to our family while we were reading aloud Acts 17. He doesn’t remember the situation of desperation we felt. Read more » Read more »

Living-Gods-Story-thumb
Last fall, as a result of leading a parent forum at our church, I decided to begin writing what I could remember about how God made Himself real to our family as I read the Bible aloud when the kids were little. Questions were coming my direction about how my Read more » Read more »

I Am In A Revolution

by November 5, 2010
Mark Hoober
Prelude This morning, like almost every other morning in my adult life, I arose burdened with anxiety—anxiety for my work today, anxiety about how to pay the bills, anxiety about the future, and often, just plain old unexplained ambient anxiety.
